Yes! We make all our candles in our home-based candle studio, Our candles are made in small batches of six at a time. We select the vessels, wax, wicks, covers, fragrance oils and other design elements that is needed to create each candle. Each step of the process is carefully handled to ensure our customers get a unique product. We conduct testing throughout the entire process from start to finish, from blending of fragrance oils, wicking of the candles, pouring in the jars, and packaging of the final product. We try our best to provide flawless products but due to the handmade nature of our products some minor variations may be observed.
We only use 100% natural soy wax. We use our proprietary blend soy wax to ensure our candles have a smooth tops and will not easily melt when exposed to high temperatures. We blend our soy wax because most natural soy waxes have the tendency to revert back to its natural state and will cause the candle to have rough tops or chalky white appearance around the sides of the jars.
We have also taken the time to research our vendors for the fragrance oils we use. They are toxin-free, carcinogen-free, mutagen-free, and phthalate-free and are from suppliers that adhere to IFRA standards, and California Proposition 65 requirements, and incorporate the elimination of harmful substances in their manufacturing processes.
In the previous question we said soy wax is a natural ingredient. Soy wax is made from soybeans which is grown in the USA and is a natural renuable source for this type of wax. Soy wax is non-toxic and allows candles to have a cleaner burn. These candles burns slower so you get a longer lasting candle with practically no black soot being produced.
On the other hand paraffin wax is made from petroleum sources and is actually a byproduct of the oil purification process, basically it is what is leftover after oil has been pruified. This is also known as petroleum wax and it is not a natural product. Parafin wax has and still is the most popular wax used for candles. Most mass produced candles are made from parafin wax and the labeling of these candles lacks transparency about their contents. Recent research have found that the black candle soot particles emitted from candles made from parafin contains compounds that can be toxic when inhaled. The candles made from parafin typically produces more black soot and causes the jar of the candles to get black on the inside. The soot also escapes into the air you breathe and can get trapped in your nostrils and travel to your lungs.
The Global industry that sets boundaries for fragrance creation. This industry ban, limit or set criteria for the use of certain ingredients based on scientific evidence.
We care about your health and do not want to expose you to harmful substances. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has expressed concerns about phthalates because of their toxicity and the evidence of pervasive human and environmental exposure to these chemicals. Phthalates are used in many industrial and consumer products, many of which pose potentially high exposure. Phthalates have been detected in food and also measured in humans.
